i imagine doing it in light of the pandemic. She has to prove to recruits that this is a new team and program on the rise...and that's a very hard sell when you don't have the opportunity to prove it on the court.

I’m picturing Norman Dale telling the ref “these are my four, my team is on the court.”

Not certain if that is it or someone else transferred.

yeah 3-4 seems much more reasonable minimum intake.

Duke signed Canadian Lee Volker last fall and has transfer Nyan Green coming in from Louisville. Green was a McDonald's All-American.

AFAIK Uchenna Nwoke is still on the roster.

I wonder how much the transfer rules will affect recruiting, other than roughly doubling the coaches' "recruiting" work. Will high schoolers commit earlier to save their place at a school?

Example: Duke is on the short list for the #6 2022 high schooler, a point guard. This week, last year's #6 recruit who is a point guard entered the portal from Rutgers. She scored over 17 ppg and shot over 45% from three, so she's proven she can excel at the college level.

I have no idea if Duke has a chance at the Rutgers player, but if they got her it would severely reduce the need for the high schooler (though I'm sure they would still take her, but could concentrate their efforts on other positions because Vanessa De Jesus looks like a keeper).

So does the high schooler feel pressure to commit as soon as possible so Duke (or whichever school if she has a strong preference early) doesn't pursue the Rutgers player as hard?

UConn might be interesting next year. Can 2 ball-dominant guards co-exist, or will one want to transfer after a year with the new rules. Sure, UConn always has tons of talent but it's usually spread around a bit. Not 2 extreme talents at one position.

given that paige gets in trouble for trying to facilitate her teammates too much, i'm skeptical this is an issue. Further, azzi and paige are best friends. I think they'll work it out.
