A neighbor and pal of mine just got a nice write up in the local free paper after a bunch of people spotted a large Sikorsky helicopter carrying his electric vertical take off and landing aircraft across Lake Champlain...it's designed to fly 250 miles on a charge, then re-charge in an hour...the founder of the company was a local hockey star who went to Harvard, got drafted in the fifth round by the Washington Capitals, but decided he did not like their role for him (beating people up...he's 6-5, 230 or so).
anyway, interesting read on a new technology...I wish they had a better photo of it, you can barely see it..it's designed after the arctic tern, long distance flyer that it is...
