It's not a national food day, but the good folks who grow peanuts need our help (including Hampton Farms from N.C.) eating peanuts in the shell, given the fact that the baseball stadium market has disappeared.

Happy to say we have some in the house and routinely eat them on the deck accompanied by cocktail hour at 5:30pm...https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/23/d...gtype=Homepage

For those who are interested, there is a great lineup of holidays today:

    - National strawberry parfait day
    - National catfish day
    - National Leon day (because it is the half anniversary of Christmas or Noel)
    - National bomb pop day
    - National handshake day

I'm assuming all of the usual national handshake day festivities have been cancelled for this year and likely going forward. Perhaps the organizers can have a bomb pop to console themselves on their sudden lack of relevance.

Thank you for updating. I have been a bit delayed. I'll see if I'm able to figure out a way to celebrate a strawberry parfait followed by a beer tonight.

Gotta be some way I'm able to integrate at least one of these into my food plans for the day:

    National Coconut Day
    National Beautician’s Day
    National Chocolate Pudding Day
Take Your Dog to Work Day – Friday After Father’s Day

Not saying which one/s, of course.

You’re 6 months early. National Whiners Day is in December (really).

People working at home has made take your dog to work day a lot easier to observe. And remember not to combine that one with chocolate pudding day as chocolate is really bad for dogs - give them coconut if you must...

It’s N.Y. strip and shrimp day here. More of a local thing than national I guess.
