They were always a rare find here. More common up in Washington state.
That's the origin of my familiarity with the geoduck. And working in a seafood market in Seattle many moons ago.

If he posts that Monday is National Pork Rind Day, I’m gonna get suspicious.

Not quite, but, now that you asked, tomorrow will celebrate the following:

    National Best Friends Day
    National Name Your Poison Day
    National Upsy Daisy Day

Nope. The pork rind folks have chosen for some reason to synchronize their day to Superbowl Sunday.

National Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Day-June 9

We got a break yesterday without a "foodie" holiday, giving folks time to visit The Fitness Thread and work off a few hundred calories from National Doughnut Day and National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. Today likely won't generate much interest unless you're RJ199 and/or tbyers11 (hint: New Glarus beer). So, sit down, have a slice (or not) because the next two National Day Calendar events promise to be much better...

I had to research that and you are indeed correct. Perhaps we should petition the calendar makers to omit the rhubarb and simply have a strawberry pie day; or strawberry milkshake IPA day.

    Don’t care, gonna eat anyway.

Spinach, almonds, and bran cereals also have the kidney stone stuff.

Perhaps you’re suggesting a pork and beer diet?

Pretty sure those are consequenceless choices, particularly when consumed in obscene quantities. But I’m no doctor...

Yeah, but it's nothing a scoop of ice cream won't solve (see item 2, under the "Instead" header). I say we just change it to Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie à la Mode Day. It's better that way, anyway.

The rhubarb patch is getting pretty overgrown, so I guess a run to the store for strawberries is required.

Wait, you must have some strawberries in your garden, too.

Only get about one a day and have to grab them up quick before the varmints get to them. Not sure yet if it's birds, squirrels, or skunks.

Had to wait until the temps came down tonight before firing up the oven so pie got done late.

    During assembly.

Finished product. Sometimes they juice out a bit. Not really sure why, but still tastes great.

I had no idea what a blank cow was and had to look it up. Never heard it called that. Is it a regional term?

I mean, I know what a root beer float is. From the inter webs:

The once-in-a-lifetime idea was born when Wisner noticed that the snowy peaks on Colorado's Cow Mountain looked like ice cream floating in soda. The very next day (Aug. 19, 1893) he combined root beer and vanilla ice cream, creating what he called the “Black Cow.” Of course, nowadays it's known as the root beer float.
