    Various National Food Days

I'm shocked no one has brought this to the board's attention before now.

What was/is/will be next to your glass of milk/mug of coffee/glass of Ymm, Beer today?

Yes, Aisle 2 in your local grocery store or just inside and to the left of your nearest convenience store.

Was in my local grocer this morning and was met with their donut day promotions.
Due to COVID, can only buy a full dozen. It was tough, but I resisted the temptation even though they were a bargain.
I need to fit into my wetsuit tomorrow morning. No need to make it any worse.

National Doughnut Day, the first Friday in June, was started during WWII when some of those on the home front wanted to do something nice for the troops and thought, "Who doesn't like doughnuts? Let's give a doughnut to everyone who serves our country!"

I could imagine photos of BigWayne and his catches of the day tomorrow or Sunday along with the extra "doughnut roll" had he succumbed to that temptation .

    Well, maybe not .

(I've met BigWayne and he is a big fellow and a very nice guy, too .)

I'll blame the heat and Ymm, Beer for slowing our thought processes.

Well there were no pics yesterday, because we were on a secret access mission due to the normal places being closed due to government fiats.

Friday's efforts paid off. Seemed easier to get in the wetsuit than last time.

This is from a previous trip for the same quarry.

Alas, our annual Ben and Jerry's Free Cone Day has been postponed: https://www.benjerry.com/scoop-shops/free-cone-day

    Not gonna stop me, though...

My family and I just proudly observed this holiday that we weren't aware of until this morning. Apparently tomorrow is national best friends day. For those of us for whom chocolate ice cream is one of our best friends, this is quite the long weekend...

It's a gaper or horseneck clam. We used to get Geoducks in the same area, but haven't been able to find any lately.
They were always a rare find here. More common up in Washington state.

Plus, you forgot to mention National Doughnut Day on Friday as part of your celebrations.

    Happy to be of service!

Promoting national donut day and chocolate ice cream day seems awful self serving, devildeac 🤣🤪
