Fernwood Tonight, with Fred Willard and Martin Mull, was a favorite of mine. A really funny dry guy.
First Jerry Stiller, now another comedy great. Fred Willard has passed at the age of 86.
Best in Show, Fernwood 2 Night, This is Spinal Tap, and so much more. He got Emmy nominations for his memorable guest stints on Everybod Loves Raymond and Modern Family. He plays Steve Carrell's father in the upcoming Space Force. He was a giant who was making us laugh until the end.
"I'd hate to go on a date with judge Idi Franklin and have her judge me."
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Fernwood Tonight, with Fred Willard and Martin Mull, was a favorite of mine. A really funny dry guy.
As someone who has owned (actually who has been owned) by a show dog (Airedale), “Best in Show” did it for me.
Fred was quite magnificent in Best in Show...
What a bummer, Fred was great.
His IMDB is enormous, he did so much TV that it boggles the mind. I could have sworn that he was on the TV show "Real People" as a guest commentator, not one of the hosts, but I don't see it on there.
The first thing I saw him in was Spinal Tap. He was awesome in Best in Show. The other standout for me is Anchorman,
Bummer. Really funny guy.
Hey, wha' happened?
I'll always remember him for his one episode of Stargate.
Language warning — but this was hilarious:

RIP, thanks for making me laugh.
Everyone should take a minute to scroll through Willard's IMDB list of acting credits. It's pretty incredibly, right up to the end. It's the resume of a man who loved his craft.
Here's something about Fred Willard from the Jimmy Kimmel show saluting him. It seemed appropriate that Fred should have the last word.
Linky.
