I think it’s still in print.
I've been in the house (Powell Hall in St. Louis) for several performances of Carmina, and it has always been spectacular.

Finally got to listen to the new Brandy Clark album today while working out. Strongly recommended.

I just saw Trombone Shorty, and wow, he is super talented and a natural entertainer!

Also, Mavis Staples still puts on a great show at 83!

Trombone Shorty is fabulous and I would listen to Mavis sing the phone book

YMMV, but I consider the Staple Singers version of "The Weight" to be among the best covers of an already iconic song out there. Mavis absolutely makes it her own.

If you’re been impatiently waiting for Goat Rodeo 3, try these two recent releases on for size.

    (1) sibling duo of fiddle player Brittany Haas and cellist Natalie.

    (2) up-and-coming classical violinist Tessa Lark teams up with Michael Cleveland, Sierra Hull, Edgar Meyer, and Jon Batiste. Duets with Hull on Bartok pieces for two violins are spectacular.

Thanks for posting these. I loved both editions of Goat Rodeo, so nice to have recommendations for something similar. Links to a place to buy the CDs is maybe just a little too quaint, though. Let's try these:

It’s always a thrill to discover a “new” artist. My new obsession is Allison Russell. I picked up last minute tickets to see Keb Mo at Summerfest in Boone and Allison Russell was the opener. I had never listened to her music so I hurriedly put together a song list for the drive over and man was I ever blown away by her songs and her show. She had a pretty tragic upbringing which she’s turned into 2 truly positive and powerful records. I can’t wait for more.

Saw her at MerleFest. Like you say, her childhood was tragic. Her way of dealing with it is an inspiration. It doesn't hurt that she is a rare talent. I also saw her perform as a member of Our Native Daughters, with Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla, and Amythyst Kiah. Awesome music and message.
Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!

    Tyler Childers

The Kentucky singer-songwriter has a new album coming out in September, and does an interview with NPR where he is taking chances on alienating fans over social issues (for lack of a better term): https://www.npr.org/2023/07/27/11901...love-interview

Man I love Tyler Childers. Maybe he will alienate some fans but his genre is much more accepting than mainstream country and there is a well worn path plotted by Sturgill Simpson, John Prine, Steve Earle and many others and that path is endures much longer than chart topping country hits. I remember shaking my head when I heard Neil Boortz claim the end of Steve Earle’s career when he released his song about John Walker Lind entitled “John Walker’s Blues”. There’s plenty of room for left leaning politics in Americana.

MerleFest in 2019. I'm not a big Country fan, but he was a pleasant surprise. It would be nice to find out that the social issues bring him more new fans than the ones he will lose. Is there room for optimism? Hope so.

I bought tickets to an upcoming DMB show through the Warehouse, but for the first time can’t go. I haven’t sold physical tickets to a show forever.

The Warehouse has a board with a ticket exchange. I’ve listed my tickets there, but am unsure how the process actually works if you find a buyer.

Other Warehouse members — have you ever sold tickets via this method?

Good day for new releases: Jon Batiste, Rhiannon Giddens, Margaret Glaspy, and another set of Beatles songs from Al DiMeola. My Tidal account is getting a workout this morning.

Rhiannon Giddens is probably the greatest live show I have ever seen.
