Ben Stiller's dad and a great comedic actor.
Serenity now!!
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Very sad - what an incredible comedian. His role on Seinfeld was classic, and he had a great career before and after that.
He lived very close to me in NY - I saw him several times outside his building, the last one he did not seem to be in great shape. I once bumped into him on Thanksgiving Day and resisted the urge to wish him a happy Festivus. From everything I have heard he was a very nice, normal, pleasant guy.
Condolences to the Stiller family.
Woah, I never realized that was Ben Stiller's dad! Sad news.

Very funny and accomplished actor, stole many a scene as Frank Costanza. A few obvious faves were Festivus, stopping short, mansierre and throwing down with Elaine ("you wanna piece of me?!").
Strongly agree, he was extremely talented and frequently stole Seinfeld scenes. He also stole many on King of Queens. In very short order, the King of Queen’s producers and writers recognized there was no need for him to have two daughters and Carrie’s sister disappeared.
This comment is going to drive me crazy. I recently listened to an interview with him where he talked about how much fun his parents' dinner parties used to be when he was growing up. Now I cannot find the damn interview. It was either Howard Stern, Letterman or Conan. If I find it I'll post it.
RIP to Jerry Stiller. Such a funny man.
Just think how different Seinfeld might have been if Clark Griswold's father had been a better fit.
Demented and sad, but social, right?
