I think this deserved a new thread but the player coach dynamic is most likely about to change drastically or, perhaps it has already changed. This latest controversy with the OK State football team and how it played out is a prime example. Will endorsements deals have clauses about social media posts?

They already do. Maybe not explicitly but if your particular brand stands for something and you post support for something diametrically opposed to that, you best be finding a new endorser. Coach K and Duke are already ahead of the curve on this and have training sessions on media communication including social media.

There was a very interesting article on FiveThirtyEight today on the impact that 5-star player Makur Maker might have at Howard. Here's a quote that stood out to me, as it relates to Duke:

With name, image and likeness rights still likely at least a year away, Maker probably won’t be able to profit off all that he’s bringing to campus. But if the purported future NIL rules and regulations were in place, Opendorse CEO and co-founder Blake Lawrence calculated11 that Maker’s earning potential would be $4,538 over a calendar year. Given that a lot of that assessment has to do with the university’s lack of revenue and its market size, Lawrence noted that Maker’s annual earning potential could have exceeded $117,000 if he had chosen to enroll at Duke University.
