Duke is likely to see a decade’s worth of zone defense in 2021. NOBODY matches up well against our projected attack.

Yes...and ...we are adding 5 stars Jake Naso at FO and Cole Krause at D this winter. The pipeline continues with Inside Lacrosse’s #1 Andrew McAdorey at midfield and #2 Keith Boyer at D in 2021.

We need to DEMAND that there be a Fall preseason schedule. Nothing ventured - nothing gained. I can't wait fo the start of next season!

I’m sure coach Danowski will carefully consider your demands.

Ok, so who takes Furman’s place on the schedule?

I'm not sure they were going to be on the schedule because we just finished a home-home with them. Danowski usually plays regional schools 1:1. Furman might not be the only casualty before the schedule is announced in December.

    Schedule change

There is discussion that Duke and UNC may play twice next year during the regular season (home and away, obviously) and one of the games would count as a non-conference game. This is in response to keeping travel costs down and maintain a standard lacrosse schedule. Breschi and Dano have entered into talks about it. Stay tuned.

Duke has added two more highly regarded grad transfers for 2021, GK Mike Adler from St. Joseph’s and FO Dan O’Connell from Holy Cross.

DEPTH! Fantastic assemblage of quality transfers. Offense should be loaded.

Nice. Does this mean that Uppgren isn't coming back? Couldn't he get a theoretical Do Over even though he's a fifth year senior?

Great adds for sure, but what positions are FO and FOGO? Uneducated minds want to know!
    Ozzie, your paradigm of optimism!

Faceoff (ridiculously important, no win faceoff, no get ball) and face off go out (guys who only fight for the faceoff and are immediately subbed for)...but I think one of the two guys was a goalie...

Thanks. So a FOGO is a one trick pony, like we're hoping Joey Baker isn't next season (reference Jim Sumner's article on wing players...).

it's a one trick pony whose trick is most important, given that there's a faceoff after every goal...good faceoff guys can win games.

You may remember Brendon Fowler, the one trick pony who won virtually every face-off in the 2013 and 2014 Final Fours. He was so good the NCAA changed the rules. MVP all the way

Like playing make it, take it in basketball. Also, won a Title in 2010 with FOGO CJ Costabile’s FO win and fast break 5 second OT goal against the great Scottie Rodgers, Notre Dame goalie. FOGO and goalie are the make or break positions in Lax.

Or face off get off--same meaning but an easier to remember phrase...

Is Title IX a major factor in whether a college or university. adds women's lax when same institution does not have a men lacrosse team?
