Unless a marshmallow is on a stick, in a fire, while I’m in the mood to burn my mouth, or in the mood to create a s’more, which is very difficult to eat, I’d be willing to stack marshmallows til the cows come home in exchange for a chocolate chip cookie.
I love chocolate chip cookies, too, but don’t write off marshmallows completely until you’ve tried Japanese marshmallows. They are amazing. A much softer texture, while still being marshmallow-like, and they are much, much more subtly sweetened. Delicious. Not quite as good as a chocolate chip cookie, but delightful in their own right and much harder to resist than their American counterparts.
"We are not provided with wisdom, we must discover it for ourselves, after a journey through the wilderness which no one else can take for us, an effort which no one can spare us, for our wisdom is the point of view from which we come at last to regard the world." --M. Proust
