We owe a nice collection of wins to Alex. I’m forever grateful for that.

'When I got on the bus for my first road game at Duke, I saw that every player was carrying textbooks or laptops. I coached in the SEC for 25 years, and I had never seen that before, not even once.' - David Cutcliffe to Duke alumni in Washington, DC, June 2013
Bummer. Best of luck to AOC - he can play. He’ll put up good scoring and rebounding numbers somewhere next year. I was hoping for at least 2 seniors out of AOC, JGold and JTuck.
I could have understood this after last season, but not now. It seemed like he was just getting into a groove and was becoming a steady fixture in the rotation.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly with some numbers to show me I'm crazy, but whatever.
I wish AOC only the best. His play at Syracuse last year will always be remembered. And he had some great athletic dunks over his career, some so lightning quick - they were dazzling. He has talent, but it was definitely going to be challenged again next year. I think he would have been made a captain next year, but perhaps he saw that White didn't end up playing despite that tag on him. I hope he lands at a school that ends up in the tourney next year. I'll be cheering for him, no matter what haircut he has!

I will never talk about That Game. GTHC.
Love that AOC posted on IG about "nothing but blessings and love from Duke" and thanks the coaches and fans for everything. Not leaving on bad terms or anything, just thinks there may be more opportunity for him elsewhere. I respect that. Wish more players had kind words like that when things don't work out perfectly.
Best of luck to Alex wherever he ends up... was a joy to watch him in a Duke uniform.
He was always a guy to me that I thought could be "the guy" at another school if given the opportunity. That's not to say it was Duke's fault for him not getting the opportunity or his fault for not being good enough... that was just never going to be his role at Duke.
Can't fault him for wanting to find out if that is the case or not. Hope he gets his opportunity and shines. He definitely has a lot of talent and skill.
I'll always remember his breakaway dunks and how hard he would attack the rim when given the opportunity.
sorry to see him go, but wish him well for the future....

Best of luck, Alex, whatever the future holds!
