Boredom would be my primary reason but watching Philyaw-Johnson return two kick-offs for touchdowns was special.

So today on CBS from 4-6 EDT we can watch the 2010 championship game which serves two purposes, at least:

    1) we get to enjoy the good guys winning, of course, but also

    2) Had Heyward's shot gone in, it may well have usurped Laettner's shot in the pantheon of NCAA shots (though it wasn't as good a game by any means).

Here's a link that shows what you can find on CBS and the CBS Sports Network over the next week or so. There are also several heartbreaking Duke tournament losses on rotation on CBSSN so be careful of that.

Some highlights (most of these games are shown multiple times, so check the link for full listings if you can't watch at one of the times listed below). There is some excellent game action next Saturday, be sure to DVR that and maybe get a commemorative tattoo.

Watching the 2010 champ game right now may be the most calm I’ve been these past few weeks. Man I miss sports.

Yep, and Zoubek is a man. Didn’t remember how great of an impact on this game.

Being on campus during this, they WILL be my favorite Duke team forever. An experience I’ll never forget.

    God I miss Zoubek.

Certain teams (cough uva cough) still get away with murder, but the NCAA has come a long long way in freeing up play. This game is PHYSICAL!

Man I forgot how insane it was that Jukes came in and kept Butler in it in the first half with Howard out. There were so many chances we had to break it open in the first half and every time Butler battled back.

It's hard not to give a nod to the other championship teams, plus the JJ/Shelden years (I was exactly four years behind them, so those were my 4 years of high school). Plus the long list of guys I really liked who were never on a championship team or even necessarily a terribly good team.

But I think this team easily had the best story (and K not getting ACC and NCAA COY that year was a true injustice).

Lance Thomas with the nice one hand almost hook shot

Rats! Should have asked for a chat.

Scheyer will one day be the coach at Duke.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'
