I have CoronaBrain and can't remember anything that happened before March...are there any potential candidates for the draft from Duke this year?
Defensive tackle Edgar Cerenord, quarterback Quentin Harris, defensive end Tre Hornbuckle, defensive tackle Trevon McSwain, punter Austin Parker, linebacker Koby Quansah and safety Dylan Singleton all are in the draft pool hoping to become Duke's next NFL name.

Not quite DJ level excitement this year.
Sounds about right. Found this on what Cut did to help promote the guys absent an in-person pro day. Pretty good read/watch.
Very slight chance McSwain gets drafted in the 7th round. More likely he goes UFA, as will be the case with other Duke prospects.
And some Duke UFA's have made an NFL roster. I'm saying there's a chance.
Lenoir Rhyne -- Kyle Dugger - safety, going to the Patriots. 6-2, 220 -- played in the Senior Bowl. 24 YO.
Good for him.

'When I got on the bus for my first road game at Duke, I saw that every player was carrying textbooks or laptops. I coached in the SEC for 25 years, and I had never seen that before, not even once.' - David Cutcliffe to Duke alumni in Washington, DC, June 2013

New York Jets selected Denzel Mims from Baylor with their 2nd Round pick. Why do I point this out on a Duke board? Because it has potential to benefit Jamison Crowder.
Mims scouting report states he has rare blend of size, top-end speed and length...2nd gear capable of taking the top of coverages.
If Mims is a legitimate deep threat, demanding a double team, Crowder will have room to operate in the slot.

Panthers draft shaping up nicely.
And its officially time to stop flipping to ESPN to see picks now that they've decided not to talk about the picks as they come in.
New York Giants shoring up the protection for Daniel Jones:
1st - Andrew Thomas OT (Georgia)
3rd - Matt Peart OT (UConn)
5th - Shane Lemieux OG (Oregon)

The answer is probably yes, but has a team with picks in every round (excluding teams who traded away picks and only took 2 or 3 guys) every picked players exclusively from one side of the ball before?
The draft is complete, 13 of 14 ACC teams had at least one player drafted...

I guess Duke was the one ACC school that didn't have one player drafted. This tells me: 1) It's hard for Duke to recruit elite high school talent. 2) Coach Cut is doing a fine job except, he could have called the plays on offense this season or hired a good OC.
