His mom and/or dad raised him well. What a kind gesture. I'd love to see the other Duke guys on the Pelicans chip in.

Mods, if you can correct the typo in the thread title (King, not Kind), I'd appreciate it...although maybe the kindness of his gesture is what caused the typo?

Maybe they should rename it. Zion is a good kid.

Wow. Even for a super wealthy guy, that's a lot of money. I'm assuming there are quite a few workers at SK.

Great job by Zion! What a thoughtful gesture.

And kudos to Kevin Love for being the first out of the gate with a similar offer for Cavs arena employees. There are a lot of other people who are going to need our help so hopefully many others will follow the example of Zion and Love.

One of my companies stages concerts at some of the major venues in the area...I'll keep some key people paid out of my pocket, but this kind of gesture by Zion is huge, just huge, for these type employees. What an incredible young man.

Good gesture but shouldn’t the owners be the ones doing this?

I guess as we have seen with the Ivy League, the NBA, etc., sometimes it takes an individual act to make the people in charge realize that they need to do something.

"Love New Orleans and the city will love you back." Zion gets it.

Not necessarily...the owners are probably covering the players' salaries without revenue and covering all the other operating costs of an arena...which is something on the order of 6-15 thousand per day just to open the door, depending on where it is.

BTW I own a concert/event staging company. This is killing me, but my employees as well. Too bad for my guys there's not a Zion to do this for them. I don't have the funds for that...but from owning this business I understand what an amazing gesture this is by this remarkable young man.
