Apparently his statewide show is perhaps gone...according to this: https://barrettsportsmedia.com/2020/...ports-network/

Notice that among the comments, they are 100% against moving Gold into Glenn's spot.

    More shake up

So Joe Ovies and Giglio are out at 99.9 The Fan "abruptly" as of Wednesday afternoon.

I do not celebrate anyone getting fired, and I certainly am not in the target demo for sports radio any more - but I thought Ovies was a blight on local radio. He was always childish, "too cool for school" and never EVER had a feel for the ACC, or for the Duke Carolina rivalry, or even for college sports in general to be frank.

Local sports radio has never been less relevant in my lifetime....and I guess the slow degrade of the product is inevitable.

Ovies is gone from WRAL's sports page, too. His bio page brings up a 404.

He was teamed up there with Lauren Brownlow in both written and video formats.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."

I did not consume the sports pages at WRAL...and I had kinda wondered what had become of Brownlow...had not heard her on air in long time. (then again, mainly listen during Canes pre game / post game while in traffic around PNC arena.)
