A lot of these threads are for folks gone too soon. Not Kirk, he had a nice, long quality life. Dude was born when WW1 was still going on. RIP all the same to a legend.

The Academy has 4 days to update the In Memoriam montage. I would think Kirk Douglas would either added onto the very end (assuming the montage starts with Doris Day).

The SAG Awards did a pretty good one, though by design it's all actors, many from television. Their montage opens with Tim Conway/Georgia Engel and hits you at the end with Doris Day/Albert Finney/Peter Fonda:

BAFTA did theirs last weekend. Watch it here. More industry-wide and lots of small photos, for some reason. It starts with Rutger Hauer and ends with Doris Day, but sort of abruptly, like they cut it off a few seconds early.

I went to school with Kirk's son, Kirk would show up on Father's Day...amazing looking guy, though all of us were surprised how short he was. I mean REALLY short. He was said to be 5-9, but that's about three inches taller than he really was...but he was tall enough to whack a bunch of Romans with his mighty sword...

Oh yeah, the OTHER hundred year old ex-actor Douglas. He and his dad became the same person to me.

    Tell Catherine I'll wait.

Kirk Douglas was fantastic in “In Harm’s Way” one of my favorite movies. His character, CDR Paul Eddington, was a scoundrel and Douglas played him well.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea - my first time (that i remember) seeing kirk....he and my father really looked alike. Unfortunately, i made the mistake of saying that i liked kirk better than john wayne...my older brother never forgave me...
