Dammit. I viewed it three times and #s 1 and 3 worked. Thanks and sorry.

Sorry, WW is not in either link.

In 1918, mask wearing was controversial in many places, according to what I’ve read. And men often cut holes in their masks for cigarettes or cigars.

Didn't the small towns effectively strip-mine themselves? A lot of folks banded together to keep WalMart out, but traded there just the same when it opened. Wanted things cheap, got cheap things.
Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!

Definitely not Daytona. Pretty sure it's not Clearwater.

Not basing that on our intelligence, basing it on the background.

Edit: Guess I should take a stab, I'll say Myrtle. But answer E gives me pause (don't think you'd do that to us).

CNN Business anchor Richard Quest pens a really compelling essay about what his case of COVID has been like. It ain't a pretty picture.

He is one of the many, many who will not be a fatality... but for whom COVID has left a lasting stain upon his life.

I am also discovering new areas of damage: I have now become incredibly clumsy. I was never the most lissome person, no one ever called me graceful, but my clumsiness is off the chart. If I reach for a glass, or take something out of a cupboard, I will knock it, or drop it on the floor. I have tripped over the curb and gone flying. I fall over furniture. It is as if that part of my brain, which subconsciously adjusts hand and movement to obstacles it sees, isn't working.

At times there's a sense of mild confusion. The micro delay in a thought, the hesitation with a word. Nobody would notice but me.

My digestive system is peculiar, to say the least.

It doesn't matter whether I call them symptoms, traits, or wreckage -- my body doesn't feel quite right.
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

I don’t think so. The background doesn’t fit the area. No hills or tree line in front of the beach. I doubt Kiawah would allow that many people on the island ever.

E is correct. It's Coney Island according to this article:

    https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/07/...navirus-surge/

I also saw the same photo on a CNN article yesterday. I was stunned given the severity of COVID in NYC for many weeks.

I never liked house plans that included a "powder room" right near the front door. I guess it made sense 100 years ago. Now we just throw a mask at them and spray them with sanitizer. Or better yet, don't let them in.

Dr. Rosenrosen "paged" me yesterday with a question about anti-coagulation and COVID and I found this article in the June 16 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology as I read a couple of my journals last evening. I'm not even going to try and summarize a rather complicated/comprehensive ~23 page article with 156 sources and 45 authors writing for a task force. And, it's not because I'm lazy, it's because I don't know where to begin or organize a summary .

    https://www.onlinejacc.org/content/75/23/2950

Perhaps the best summary/generalization would be that all physicians caring for COVID patients will continue to follow current guidelines and what we've learned and practiced over the last decade or more and continue to learn contemporaneously from our experiences and the teachings of others.

Florida orders schools to reopen for new academic year

    This should be interesting: https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/f...e-order-reopen

The order states that “school districts and charter school governing boards must provide the full array of services that are required by law so that families who wish to educate their children in a brick and mortar school full time have the opportunity to do so.”

Our older daughter is an elementary PE specialist and has said she's taking a 6 month leave of absence if our county follows through with their 1 week in and 2 weeks out proposal for the students with the staff in attendance full-time.

Disclaimer: I have no idea what the "best" solution is.

    I respect that.

The problem with many of these "proposals" is that they seem to be crafted by policy folks with little or no consulting with scientists and epidemiologists.

They sound good on paper, but run contrary to the overwhelming message of "stay home."
