They actually moved up 2 spots from 93rd with the loss. Kenpom predicted them to lose by 7 and they only lost by 2

Pitt hangs on to beat BC 74-72. Lots of close ones in the ACC tonight.

    Pitt improves to 13-6, 4-4.

    BC falls to 9-10, 3-5.

LOL. Most Ls Ole Roy has recorded in a season was 17 in 09-10. Unc finished 20-17 that year. Looking like they may give that number of Ls a run for its money this year. Long way to go though. Still think they’ll win more than they’ll lose when Anthony comes back.

UNC has 13 regular season games left, four against ranked teams (@ FSU, @ L’Ville, home/away with us) and the other nine against ACC teams with better records. They have talent, they fought well tonight, and Anthony will be back next week or so most likely — but seven more losses is certainly possible.

I think most people are forgetting that they lost 3 of the last 4 games that Cole Anthony played in before his injury. Granted Ohio St, Michigan and Virginia aren't awful but they were blown out against Michigan and Ohio St and a 9 point loss to UVA is like a 20 pt loss to anyone else

Anthony will obviously make them better but their ACC schedule is also much more difficult over the last 13 games (Duke twice, @Louisville, @FSU, NCST twice, @Syracuse, @ND, UVA as highlights). Kenpom predicts they will go 5-8 and that sounds about right to me.

A Louisville fan came on IC to tell them it was their payback season for all the cheating they'd done. They actually went back and forth with him, and someone suggested that he go to an Italian restaurant and perform a sexual act on himself. The mods must have been too depressed to do anything.

7 more Ls indeed seems possible. Hope 2 of them are absolute blowouts, as well.

Yup. But the two games against State are probably wins. Because, State.

Round the ACC, they just call that a 'Pitino'.

True, they weren’t earth shattering before Anthony was injured. It may give them a mental lift/jolt more than stats can predict when he returns but who can be sure.

5-8 in their final 13 would put them at 13-18, 6-14 heading to Greensboro. Would likely need to win 5 games in 5 days to dance. Not sure if the Kenpom 5-8 prediction has Anthony’s return built into the algorithm but if they do indeed go 5-8 the rest of the way, they won’t even play in the NIT this season. Honestly, I think after the ACC Tournament if they don’t win it they may voluntarily end their season even if by some wild chance they’re invited to an invitational.

I prefer hearing that they got run out of the gym, but I will take “close” too.
