Duke remains undefeated and has a 1-game lead over Louisville and Florida State. That ends the discussion of teams that feel comfortable about their NCAA tournament prospects. Everybody else - yikes. It's been a long time since the conference was this full of mediocre teams and this thin at the top. Continuing the "it's been a weird season" vibe, Clemson pulled off something it never did before, and Virginia gave up more points in a 5-minute overtime than in a 20-minute half to Syracuse over the weekend. One can only wonder what this week has in store.

I’m very curious how both UVA games go this week. FSU should really win at home fairly comfortably if it is truly elite. Then we will see how legitimate Ga Tech’s claim is to be a top ACC squad. UVA on the other hand needs to win at least one- especially against FSU - to start building an NCAA resume.
I can see unc has the midweek off...probably a time to focus on academics.
It's gut-check time for the heels. I would not be surprised to see a players-only meeting called. Someone on that team has to take control and show some leadership.
@ Pitt Saturday is as close to a must-win for them as you can get mid-season. Especially since their game after that is @ VT, which I assume draws a similar atmosphere as when we come to town up there. They can't afford a 6-game slide.

If State wants a post-season, we need a sweep against two mediocre teams this week.
I don't know WTH is going on with CJ Bryce, but we are clearly struggling without our most productive player. Official word was concussion suffered in practice, but there have been rumblings that something else is going on. No idea what.
@Pitt is unequivocally a must-win for them. They can't go 8-9 and 1-5 in conference and have any realistic shot of making the NCAAT. They would have to finish something like 12-2 and then probably still get a win or two in the ACCT. The probability of that happening would have to be essentially zero given what we've seen to this point.
Even if they beat Pitt, they may still have to go 12-2 after that! But 11-3 at least feels directionally more attainable, if still functionally 0%.

Yes, that is the proper area where FSU should be ranked, and perhaps they have the upside to be even higher. They are very athletic and very long at the guard and wing spots, and they combine that with a decent amount of shooting skill (e.g. 75.9% as a team from the FT line).
Keep in mind that FSU was 4-seed / Sweet 16 team last season, they were an Elite 8 team two seasons ago. Their program has seemingly leveled up recently to become very good.

Don't forget, Carolina is in the midst of what was supposed to be the really easy part of their schedule right now. They still have games @NC State, @FSU, @Lou, and 2 with Duke on their schedule. According to TRank, they have the following odds to win each of those games:
@NC State - 21%
@FSU - 11%
Duke - 11%
@Lou - 7%
@Duke - 4%

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
I take the point, but I don't think it matters much honestly. It's not like they looked dominant with him. If UNC loses 12 games and Anthony is back, and they are playing reasonably well, then yeah they will probably get in. But if UNC loses 13 or 14 games? I dunno. They've got at least 16 games left. Currently 8-8.
I don't think they'll go 16-16. But I also don't think they'll go 20-12.
