I’m in on the gofundme for bail! This is a special event and I say all hands on deck! Klemnop is the man for popping up within minutes of the win. I, for one, am on board for bail and will be cheering on the Tigers on Monday!

Klemnop, you could always take your talents to the fountain at Coligny Beach tonight.

Fun to see some "old guy" DBR posters coming back in this thread. It's all for you, Klemnop! Best of luck on Monday.

Yup. My first thought was of a streaking Klem even though I’ve never met him and he hasn’t posted here in a dog’s year.

That’s not a bad idea. It’s certainly more convenient.

My fear would be that it so completely lacks context I couldn’t even begin to explain it to anyone.

In some ways it would be a lot easier to pull off (no pun intended) in Chapel Hill. It almost kinda sorta would make sense to the police officer. I might just get a stern talking to and be shuffled off quietly without further incident.

Although you are in the low country and Gamecock land, there should be enough Tiger fans to join you.

Maybe just go with a speedo at Salty Dog and call it even, though.

I can see it being like Spartacus:

    Streaker 1: "I am Klemnop"

    Streaker 2: "I am Klemnop"

    Streaker 3: "I am Klemnop"

    and so on!

Clemson was actually good in ‘88. Even better in ‘89-‘90. UNC crushed us in Chapel Hill both years.

In a dejected moment walking out of the Dean Dome I said to my friend, “We’ll never beat you guys here.”
    “Sure you will.”
“Nope. In fact I’m so sure that I promise if Clemson ever beats UNC in Chapel Hill I’ll hang naked from the sculpture in front of the Planetarium.” (That’s pretty much directly on Franklin Street.)

    Thus was born “The Promise”.

I found DBR in 1998 shortly after finding the internet. (I would have been an AOL customer in ‘98, how about you?). I was welcomed by posters like Ozzie, Jason Evans, Stray Gator, Wheat...and many, many others I can’t recall but am sure I would remember.

For nearly 10 years I posted pretty regularly on DBR. If not regularly at least as often as Duke played Clemson or, like clockwork, on the day of the Clemson @ UNC game.

By 2008 life had changed (and my interest in Clemson basketball had waned some). But I’ll always owe my internet Coming Of Age to DBR. I learned what an “llol” was. And how to make a smiley-face with a : + ). And all that kind of stuff. DBR was good family to me. I’ll always have a soft spot for you guys.
Thanks for sharing this. I could not remember the origin of "The Promise."

To do my part, I just peed off the front porch on Klemnop's behalf. Hope this helps. Don't tell my wife.
