Who was your Man of the Match? Could we get our first unanimous vote?

Load of props to go around, but Vernon was unstoppable.

Will be curious to hear any arguments for anyone besides the big guy.

If this is the first unanimous MOTM poll I will be furious.

  5. #5
Honorable mention for AOC's slamma jamma
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

No explaining necessary. We've seen huge games by Zion (many times over), Bagley, and lots of others that should have been unanimous. Not gonna happen.

Sorry, should've put a smiley at the end of that. Wasn't really expecting any 'splainin'.

No, there's some explaining to do. One of three things went wrong:

    1) accidentally clicked the wrong player
    2) voted for anyone other than VC just to make sure it's not unanimous (odd for newbie)
    3) doesn't understand basketball

Yes, Tre should have been unanimous last game, but why are you going to be "furious?" VC played tremendous - 31 in 22 minutes. If he'd have played say 32-33, he would have had 40+ easily.

Just joking around because there have been plenty of past MOTM polls where it "should" have been unanimous but never was.

I'll speak for KBum. Game of his life by Baker! 2 3 pointers (one in garbage time), a nice steal, an assist!

Also 3 fouls and 2 turnovers, one of them an "oops" stepped on the line with no one around him.

Seriously, though, it was nice to see Joey in the rotation and holding his own. And, yes he has a beautiful stroke on his shot.

And after Joey set up a Cal fast break by missing a 3, joey hustled back on D to try to stop the break. Joey set a charge, drew the charge, and got the ball back for Duke.

Nice game for Joey. And IMO there is zero good argument for voting for anyone other than Carey in this poll. But opinions are like butt-holes, everybody has their own.

This was noted in MSG, with glee.

I'm delaying my vote by three months, just in case in February we're all pointing back to AOC's dunk last night and saying "Boy, that was really the moment where AOC turned his season around on the way to all-ACC first team!"

Also, I did think, considering his contribution last night as a red-shirted freshman, Michael Savarino got an amazing amount of screen time. I wondered if the announcers had been feeling a lot of undue pressure from his grandmother???

My fat fingers chose Future Captain Joey Baker by mistake. I hope Big Vern can forgive me for keeping him from being unanimous MOTM

    Really?

Carey and Baker were not close to each other on the list of choices.

Sure, when you're scrolling on a phone to look at a list you sometimes click something by mistake. I sincerely apologize for the mistake. I promise it won't happen again.
