Good news (?): Spartans get poked in the eye big time. Bad news: Next week may be more interesting than we thought.

But maybe we’ll be the Kings of the Cassell.

I just want to note that this thread, and it’s ancestors, are collectively one of my five favorite things in all of college basketball. I just love everything about it.

I think the consensus around here may have been that VT was in a rebuilding year and that the only tough game next week was at MSU.

I was told the game would be a Spartan affair, but those reports turned out to be Hokie.

(I know now that the game is over it is no longer necessary to post in that fashion, but it amuses me.)

But now we can expect a tougher game against VT. We were already expecting a tough one against MSU. That is what I took from the comment about next week being more interesting.

I was already worried about our game against VT even before this upset happened. First ACC game, on the road, in a trap situation, on a floor that has been a nightmare for us. Now I’m terrified.

If the Hokies can continue to sink 48% of their three-point attempts, as they did today, then they're going to terrify lots of teams. Let's hope that the Blue Devils will fare better than the Spartans in defending the arc.

Great night for the ACC. Need to finish it with a sting.

Not enough sting for Tech tonight. Both teams deserved to lose but no one should lose on a banked three.

We should have been terrified even before yesterday. There was a graphic showing top 5 teams that VT has beaten in the past 4 years. Duke was on the list each of the past 3 years and UVA twice. Perhaps the MSU game was VT's top 5 win for the year.

VT has been amazing at playing Duke at home with at least 1-2 of our best players out- hope that luck runs out this year...
