Where is Gary Trent now? Did he make an NBA roster? Overseas? Hurt?

Hamstring injury, day-to-day. Still on the big club’s roster. Interesting to see if he gets any playing time since Portland added Carmelo. He was only averaging about 8 minutes a game, mostly garbage time.

I agree. Marques has a small window but he has to be much more productive. Only the top players have a chance of moving up. Duval has a lot of work to do- his jump shooting was and is a huge problem. He may have peaked in high school- it happens for many.

He did manage to secure a three year guaranteed contract after being drafted so he doesn't have to worry too much about his future yet, but he definitely wants to be showing something by the end of this season. He probably would have benefitted from being able to play more in the G League, but his team does not really believe in it so it has not been an option.

If Duval's vision issues will never be resolved, it seems unlikely that he will ever be a top level pro, but could still be productive at a lesser level. That he has been so productive even with it is pretty remarkable. I wonder if that would have been possible to sneak past NBA medicals if he had been able to go straight out of high school.

Nah,, he did better than high school in 3-4 games as a Freshman at Duke, a couple of games were great! so that was a better peak than high school
.He large great ball palming hands, and a long, quick stride. I loved watching him when he was in sync. When he would drive the lane and make a great finish, or a great dish off, he would face the Duke bench and grin at them as he bounced sideways up the court.
He's still has time, only 21 years old or so. It depends on his work ethic I guess, but I've never heard anything about that, either good or bad.

Just wanted to highlight this to point out that a guy who largely made a NBA roster because a team was required by the league to have one more player under contract is absolutely dominant in the G-League. 27 and 14 are studly numbers and that is what Amile was doing on a regular basis in the G-League before getting a permanent call-up. There is quite a gulf between the G and the NBA. It shows how far Trevon and Marques have to go...
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

I haven't really seen any injury updates from G-League action, so it's unclear to me if either Big 'Ques or Trevon have been injured, but Marques was not overly productive over the span of a couple of weeks but has recently been putting up better (counting) stats. Trevon has quite a few DNPs lately and has been putting up pretty weak stats when he does play. It appears that no player from Duke has made a bigger miscalculation of his career potential than Trevon. When Will Avery left early to the surprise of everyone and the consternation of K, at least he got drafted and played in the NBA regularly for a couple of years before it came to an end. Other guards from Duke have had disappointingly short careers, Nolan Smith and Demarcus Nelson come to mind, but neither left early or miscalculated their value. Trevon had a pretty decent season for Duke, and it was obvious to everyone that he wan't ready for the NBA . But he was OAD in his mind and nothing was gonna change that. I hope Duke never recruits players like that again.

All the teams now head to Las Vegas for the showcase with a number of games being shown on ESPN channels and NBATV. This is the event that a number of key decision makers, both for the NBA and teams overseas, get to see so impressing here can improve opinions for the future.

He thought he was Russell Westbrook. He should be dominating in the G- league if he wants a shot. That is not happening - not sure why not.
