    Curry/Rivers Marriage

    Folks,

I hadn't seen this mentioned before, but Seth Curry recently (mid-September) got married to Doc Rivers' daughter Callie.
Brought to my attention by this article:

Austin Rivers is now the brother-in-law of Seth Curry.
Are there any other Duke players who have become related to other Duke players through marriage?

Interestingly, Callie Rivers is a professional Volleyball player. If I remember correctly, Seth and Steph's mom played volleyball (and other sports) at Va Tech.

Don't know if there are any other Duke to Duke marriages....that would be interesting to find out.

And of course, the fans at LSU are shocked to find out that no, Christian Laettner did not marry Brian Davis...

Callie Rivers posted this stunningly beautiful photo on Instagram:

In an amusing note, it must have been a gorgeous affair because Doc Rivers complained about the bill.

“It was very expensive,” he said. “I have to be the first coach to ever throw a wedding for an NBA player. Like, I don’t get that. I don’t think I should have paid. I really don’t. But it was fantastic.”
On a side note, it is gonna be interesting to see who makes more in their career... Seth or Austin. Austin currently at $46 mil in career earnings to Seth's $17 mil, but Seth just signed a 4 year, $32 mil deal while Austin is only making $2.1 mil this coming season.

-Jason "meanwhile, Doc makes $11 mil a year to coach the Clippers... so he earns more than both of them combined!" Evans

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

Apparently they already have a daughter - quite the bloodlines - should we start a 2036 women's basketball recruiting thread for her?

They are taking this "brotherhood" thing a little too literally...

This was discussed a little on another thread during the summer. Callie dated several NBA players, including Paul George, before settling on Seth.

One very awkward issue is that George apparently cheated on Callie. Of course, Callie is daughter to George's new head coach.

Wow. PG REALLY embraces the "free agent" concept.

Doc may have been kidding but I'd venture that the flower arbor in the picture probably cost an arm AND a leg.

Congratulations to our Seth! One of my favs. So modest and generous.
Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

OK, now this is just crazy: https://theundefeated.com/features/o...eeply-related/

...Warriors two-way guard Damion Lee also married Dell and Sonya Curry’s daughter, Sydel, last year ...

How about a Duke National Player of the Year marrying another Duke athlete to become brother-in-law with another Duke National Player of the Year whom he coaches at Duke with?

And another Crotty sister who I believe also played lax at Duke is married to Mike Dunleavy.

    The Corrigans

Who are the Corrigans marrying? Other managers and sisters of Coaches and Conference Commissioners? I hope so. Otherwise, where will the future coaches and commissioners come from. Otherwise, we are surely doomed.
