Oh geez! Are you kidding me? Who's gonna be #3?

R.I.P. Ric Ocasek. What a great band you led, and a fantastic new sound.

At least he lived long enough to get inducted into the Hall last year. Too young at 75.

And he really was a giant. 6'5" or so if I recall.

One of the groups I most associate with the early days of MTV, back when videos were a thing.

Here's some trivia for you, Jim. The Cars won the first MTV Music Video of the Year. Who knows what it was without looking? And bonus for the year.

I don’t know, but I could never not watch Drive. With the model I think Rick was involved with? Just remember that song and video. Left an impression. Will be pulling up YouTube tonight for that video in his honor.

My 80’s soundtrack is taking a beating. Eddie and now Rick.

One of my companies sets up staging for concerts. Recently I've seen McCartney, Frampton and Willie up close...we're gonna lose more soon sadly.

I'm not Jim (), but I'll guess it was You Might Think in 1982.

Video effects have gotten a little bit better since then. I recall people thinking this video was incredibly clever and it is considered one of the first music videos to make wide use of digital effects. Nowadays, it looks like something a 6-year-old would do as part of an elementary school computer class.

-Jason "Rick was married to Paulina Porizkova, who he met when filming the video for Drive... she is not the model in You Might Think (that's Susan Gallagher)" Evans
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

Mr. Google reveals the following info:

    Video-check
    Year-not correct; it was 1984

Therefore, partial credit. Does that mean I get a half pint of ale instead of a full pint?

Yep, next time I'm in Raleigh. But don't hold your breath. I've actually been in Raleigh each of the past 2 years, but doubt I'll be back for a long while.

Of that I have no doubt.
