I watched Escape From L.A. last night, which is the horrible, awful, terrible sequel to Escape From New York.

But it wasn't a total bust, as I was enjoying the excellent soundtrack which featured a number of "lesser known" bands, and others who are known now, such as Tool, before they got big.

    "Dawn" – Stabbing Westward
    "Sweat" – Tool
    "The One" – White Zombie
    "Cut Me Out" – Toadies
    "Pottery" – Butthole Surfers
"10 Seconds Down" – Sugar Ray
"Blame (L.A) Remix" – Gravity Kills
    "Professional Widow" – Tori Amos
    "Paisley" – Ministry
"Fire in the Hole" – Orange 9mm
"Escape from the Prison Planet" – Clutch
    "Et Tu Brute?" – CIV
"Foot on the Gas" – Sexpod
    "Can't Even Breathe" – Deftones

I remember buying Stabbing Westward's second album and loved it. Not sure why they never did much more. Apparently they do have a 5th one coming out.

Tori Amos is the one odd name in that list.

All of those are pretty well known bands with the exceptions of Clutch, Sexpod, and CIV.

Yep, and some of the songs were dated earlier than that (Tool's entry is from their first LP). I knew of some of these bands in '95, but not all, or at the most had only heard a song or two and only because a friend had it on a tape. Aside from a couple exceptions, these sure weren't anything that was on the radio, so they definitely weren't "mainstream".
