Martha, Last Passenger Pigeon, died 105 Years Ago Today.

They turned day into night with flocks numbering in the countless millions. Between 3 to 5 billion lived at one time in North America. Human hunters destroyed them..
I found a cool video showing what it would be like as a flock passed over. Use headphones for best sound.

It is. Audubon was in Louisville, Kentucky in 1813 and watched a flock fly over for three days.. Imagine that. He estimated there were over 2 billion birds in the flock.
Now they are gone, thanks to humans..There is a project ongoing to restore the bird though. Revive and Restore.com.....Making good progress. Although they would never see those numbers, the initial release is to be around 10,000 birds.
