Proof Ice Cream
Bourbon Caramel flavor
7% ABV
First, I can’t believe I just ate alcohol ice cream. I don’t know how they manage to infuse real alcohol into the ice cream and still keep it frozen. But they have. Visually it was underwhelming. I expected it might have the rich color of a nice Kentucky bourbon or even reflect a caramel color in some way. Instead it looked like a plain old pint of generic vanilla ice cream when I took the lid off. And, yes, I did give it a nice deep whiff but it had no real smell. I was preparing for disappointment. Until I dug in my spoon. And it was just silky smooth and creamy, almost like gelato. The texture was very pleasing. And the flavors were much more bold than the plain vanilla color suggested. It left quite a lingering alcohol flavor, definitely reminiscent of bourbon. But it’s certainly nothing like having enjoyed a nice pour of Woodford Reserve. In summary, it’s a unique treat, but I feel it’s more of a novelty than anything. Fun to try but not something to go nuts about.

Glenlivet in a seaweed pod? I shuddered.
What say you whisky experts? Would you try it?
I am a Glenlivet French Oak scotch drinker....so...I might “sample” the capsules...that’s all
Can’t beat sitting with a glass of Glen sipping ,...in no hurry....smiling...after all
Glen is my friend 🥃🥃😍😍....always good to have friends 🥃🥃🤪🤪
I don't like Scotch seeping into this thread but will contribute to the drift w/ this essay that plays off Percy's "Bourbon" essay posted above: https://gardenandgun.com/articles/th...mine-a-scotch/
Jack Daniels Old Number 7. No one else? Geez what kind of people are you??
Truth be told, I'm not a bourbon drinker. I'm a beer drinker. Saturday night I was with some friends and his wife needed beer, so I gave her my beer and drank him bourbon instead. Four Roses Small Batch was what we were drinking. It was good. It was too good. I really liked it. I may never drink bourbon again. Three days later I still feel bad. I don't over indulge all that often any more. Saturday was a great reminder of why!
Same friend brought some peppers he grew in his garden. Had some ghost pepper with the Four Roses. I may never speak to my friend again!
