Bread and Milk Futures are skyrocketing in North Carolina, along with other staples like pimento cheese.

I'll believe it when I see it.

    Or don't see it.

    You know what I mean.

Not sure where you're seeing that, because the latest from the Weather Service (2pm) has the center of the Cone of Uncertainty pretty much on Wilmington Thursday morning, though many changes are possible/likely before then.
Right now the threat to FLA is diminishing and it's increasing for GA and the Carolinas...

    I was looking at this:

I mean a direct hit. NC will get a lot of storm, but not a direct hit. More a glancing blow. As it keeps edging east, the impact will be less and less.

yeah, that's the path of all the models shown at once..but when the weather service cogitates all over it, you get their current Cone of Uncertainty which has Ga and the Carolinas at greatest risk...(plus several of those individual model runs have Wilmington getting boinked)...

Dropsonde data coming in showing Cat 5 strength. Most likely will be upgraded by the NHC at the next advisory at 11:00. God help those in the northern Bahamas the next couple days.

Though Florida (and myself) appears to have been spared for the moment (these storms are getting worse and more frequent), this is going to tear up the Bahamas. The projected track is closer now so more reliable, and it's going to slow down as it turns and sit over the Bahamas for a day with sustained 150+ mph winds. Think about that. A tornado will blow through in minutes with pinpoint accuracy. Dorian is going to sit over them and churn over a great areal extent for at least 24 hours. Hell on Earth.

Best of luck to them. They don't need thoughts and prayers.

brutal for the Bahamas, but the current track projection is pretty fortuitous at least for Florida...should weaken as it heads north due to higher tax rates, etc...

Got it all wrong. Hurricane strength is tied to Bojangles density, that’s why they weaken as they head north.

9:30 update now says 175 max sustained winds and gusts over 200mph. God help anyone in its path.
