Hey, from what I've heard, that's a smart way to camp up there. I understand the mosquitoes and flies are slightly smaller than the grizzlies.

Actually, not so bad on the mosquitoes...no worse than N.C..

The heat wave up here has been very destructive to the trees and wildlife, especially the fish.

Alaska = the one state I've never been to

The hardest part of Alaska by far is getting there, but it's well worth the trip.

I did a cruise from Seattle round trip and saw just about everything except whales and Denali (nee Mt. McKinley). Hint: do not leave Seattle at 11PM WA time and go to work at 9AM NC time consecutively. Work won't appreciate your dedication.

Alaska "heat" seems a lot hotter than the thermometer. I went during a heat wave that felt a lot like the weather would have in NC.

Kayaking in Kenai Fjords National Park today. 2 hr boat ride out to the glacier area. 3 hours in the kayak.
