That’s impressive, as is the fact that the other linemen on that list were much higher rated than Monk. According to 247, the others were nationally rated as the best OT, #2 OG, #3 OT, #6 OT, and Monk at #27 OG. Similarly, the lowest overall national ranking of the other 4 guys was 74, while Monk was #479.
MSN has a fun prognostication piece up, predicting who will be each current Top 25 team's first loss. You have to go all the way through to get to #2 Alabama, of course.
And who do they say will be The Tide's first taste of defeat? Not Duke...and not anybody.
They predict an undefeated season ending in a championship.

Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
According to Steve Wiseman, Jakob Monk (OT) and Jalon Calhoun (WR) will start against Alabama.

Baptism by fire for our two starting tackles...Monk (true frosh) has never played a college snap, Holman is a redshirt frosh with 51 snaps to his name...tough first game.
Meanwhile touted offensive tackle recruit John Gelotte has indeed been switched to tight end, now sporting number 82...somewhat stunning move given our dearth of OTs last year and Gelotte's reputation (offers from NW, Pitt, Syracuse among many others)...hopefully we actually use him at TE, or retain his redshirt...
