Even replicants don't live forever...Rutger Hauer has passed at 75

Rutger Hauer, who to my mind most memorably played Roy Batty in Blade Runner, has died:

Everyone should watch Blade Runner again to remember him but allow me to also recommend a couple guilty pleasures you younger whippersnappers may not have seen:

LadyHawke with Matthew Broderick and Michelle Pfeifer
The Hitcher with C Thomas Howell and Jennifer Jason Leigh
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

A sad day indeed. If you don't tear up while watching his final scene in Bladerunner, then I question if your human.

“It’s not an easy thing to meet your maker.”
    -Batty, Blade Runner

Loved Rutger Hauer in Ladyhawke, and he terrified me in Hitcher.

That scene was of his improvisation, pretty impressive.

That scene is firmly implanted in my memory, not lost like tears in rain. I thank Rutger Hauer for it and remember how it changed in a minute or two my perception of Batty from standard villain to also victim.
