    The Trippers

Not a terrible day, although I obviously need Rory to improve.

    DeChambeau (-6) T1
    Woods (-2) T11
    Fowler (-2) T11
    Fleetwood (-1) T21
    McIlroy (+1) T44

The killerleft team is in pretty good shape, excluding Spieth and maybe Reed:

    Mickelson -5
    Molinari -2
    Holmes-2
    Fleetwood -1
    Kuchar -1
    Reed +1
    Spieth +3

Spieth seems intent on talking himself into oblivion - maybe. He can turn on a dime. Reed only needs to be convinced that aliens as well as most of the earthlings are against him, so... I wish I had taken DeChambeau, almost did.

I was surprised you didn't, you won the year with that guy last year. I remembered that well when I picked him this time.

    The Cut

Round 2 has started, and some of us have players who may be flirting with the cut line (looking at you, Rory McIlRory). To play the weekend, a player at the Masters must be within the Top 50 (including ties) in the standings *or* be within 10 shots of the leader.

Those who took Justin Rose are gnashing teeth now, as the World #1 will -- barring an absolute miracle -- miss the cut.

I can't believe Rose $&*# the bed on me. Hasn't finished outside the top 14 in the past 5 years, and misses the cut.

But this is the exact reason I don't gamble (with money).

Doing ok, everyone survived the cut, have a couple contenders.

    Matt Kuchar -4
    Bryson DeChambeau - 3
    Rory McIlroy E
    Bubba Watson E
    Eddie Pepperrell +3 (whew)

Team CDu is probably not in 1st, but doing ok:

    Day (-7)
    Woods (-6)
    Rahm (-5)
    Finau (-3)
    Watson (E)
    McIlroy (E)

Regretting my choice of McIlroy/Watson over Koepka/whomever.

  15. #55
No joke. My first iteration included Molinari, Oosthuizen and Scott. I scrapped it because I wanted Rory and Finau.

    through round 2:

    Strokes
    Bob Green -23
    cato -21
    CDu -21
    killerleft -21
    mr. synellinden -20
    curtis325 -18
    Jason Evans -17
    accfanfrom1970 -17
    Rogue -15
    TrippingWilliam -14
    tbyers11 -13
    Rich -11
    mkirsh -10
    CameronBornandBred -10
    nmduke2001 -8
    mal -6
    dudog -5
    gotoguy -3
    elvis14 -3
    Rasputin 2

Prize $ M (note with so many people tied for first the $ get over-inflated):
    cato $4.6
    Jason Evans $4.4
    Bob Green $3.2
    CDu $3.1
    killerleft $3.0
    mr. synellinden $3.0
    accfanfrom1970 $2.9
    curtis325 $2.8
    tbyers11 $2.6
    gotoguy $2.6
    Rasputin $2.5
    mal $1.2
    Rogue $1.2
    nmduke2001 $1.1
    mkirsh $1.1
    TrippingWilliam $1.1
    CameronBornandBred $1.0
    Rich $1.0
    elvis14 $0.8
    dudog $0.7

cato and Jason are in great shape as they each have 2 of the leaders, but with such a packed and talented leaderboard it should be a fun weekend (if the weather cooperates).

Feeling quite good right now cause both Matsuyama and Finau are making a run. Matsu is 6-under on his round to get to semi-contention at 5-under. Finau is 4-under through 6 and is now in a tie for the lead with Koepka and Day. The wheels could still fall off, but having 3 guys tied for the lead at 230pm on Saturday is about the best I could ask for.
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
