It appears my proprietary, super top-secret strategy is the same as Jason Evans's, as we have similar teams:

    Koepka - 12
    Cantlay - 6
    Simpson - 5
    Schauffele - 5
    Casey - 4

I thought about not picking Koepka just to differentiate from everyone else, but didn't have the stones when it came to decision time.

OK, if this was for money then I probably wouldn't do this, and I know the odds are against me with the new rules this year, but what the heck!

With 7 hours to go until picks must be made, Koepka is still at 100% selection.

Drop him and you could add two other top 10 golfers in the OWGR. Or, you could add golfers #18, 19, and 20... is Koepka really worth 3 other top 20 golfers?

Nope, I didn't pick Koepka. I went with an all "5" team. Shooting the moon on this one.

My feeling is that, while Koepka leads now, the guy leading heading into the tour championship will be whomever does best in the next 3 tournaments. So I want more darts. So, like Rich, I am going to buck my trend of picking Koepka and go for more chances at getting the guy who leads going into the final tourney. Team CDu:

    Woods (6)
    Rahm (6)
    Cantlay (6)
    Schauffele (5)
    Finau (5)
    Scott (4)

So far in the majors Koepka has been less expensive (only costing 8-10 points) but he has clearly been worth it. I think he's even more valuable in the playoffs because he's entering with a 500 point lead over the closest 2 competitors (Rory and Kuchar) and almost a 2000 point lead over #30 Hideki Matsuyama. Winning a tournament in the playoffs is worth 2000 points, second is 1700, third 760 and then it drops down steadily from there. So if Brooks finishes top 10 and someone like Kevin Kisner (currently #22) wins, Brooks would still have a small lead heading into the next event. He can certainly lose if someone close to him wins even if he plays well, or if he finishes outside of the top 20 in each of the next two events, but I think his built in lead justifies the extra cost.

It is early but dudes are going low in the Northern Trust open. Among players that we have picked:

Webb Simpson is 4-under through 7
Adam Scott, DJ, and Rory are all 3-under through 7
Finau is 2-under through 8 and Rahm is 2-under through 7
    Kuchar is 1-under through 7
And Koepka is even through 7 (what a waste of points to pick him!!!)

Also, Tiger is 4-over through 9. He's been complaining about his back and I would not be entirely shocked if he pulls out to give it some extra rest.

Spieth with the early impressive performance today. 5-under on his first 13 holes. He is 9-under overall, tied for first with Troy Merritt, a guy all of us picked to be a big contender.

Schauffle Even T84 (1-over through 7 thus far today)
Simpson 6-under T8 (not yet started today's round)
    Leishman 3-over T110 (1-over through 8 thus far today)
Casey - not playing this week, resting up so he can play well in the other playoff events
