    It's actually a crowbar and is nowhere near to scale .

    Here is the "after" picture. If you look closely you will see that there are no longer any shiny metal thingies in the scar. I know it looks ugly now after 2 weeks, but the other knee looks much much better 14 weeks after surgery. Apparently Vitamin E oil does help.

    I thought I'd give a final, or at least semi-final, update on progress with knee refurbishing. I have graduated from physical therapy on the second knee and am busy with strengthening exercises. I'm walking nicely and can go up/down stairs without pain for the first time in at least decade. My vertical isn't 46" yet, but it has increased from 0 to >0.


    Here is a side-by-side comparison of old vs new knee. Some difference!!

    The new knee looks really new compared to the old one which looks, uh, old.
