Ranking Roger, of The English Beat (The Beat) and General Public, has died of cancer.

This one really hits hard. Not only is he my age, these bands are quite possibly my all-time favorites. I don't think there was a sad track on any of their albums. They even made "Tears of a Clown" happy.

    R.I.P.

This Brummie is sad too. Saw The Beat several times in my Birmingham youth.
