First of all, we're talking about an infrequent poster here. It's not much of a sacrifice for this person to not post again.

More importantly, what bluegrassdevil1 is performing is what's called reverse-jinx magic, one of the most powerful of its kind -- the forum departure. It's a contract of sorts. bluegrassdevil1 endures forum ridicule and never getting to post again, but in exchange, he gets to see Zion play in a Duke uniform again. He better not mess with the basketball gods on this one, especially since his sacrifice is so small. I truly fear for Zion's health the next time blugrassdevil1 posts on DBR.

You know, I've felt some impulse to argue for a commuted sentence. Some people are just really bad at betting. It seems wrong to take advantage. It would be like Zion Williamson playing basketball, or any other sport, against me.

On the other hand, there are the matters of process defense, the sanctity of the bet, and the importance of maintaining the correct retrocausal timeline in reverse-jinx magic.
