Final: Carolina 8, Duke 7.
Tempers flared in the 8th but didn't get out of control. Carolina hit a solo home run to take the lead and the first pitch to the next batter hit him in the head. It wasn't intentional as the pitch was a curve ball. As the announcer stated, if Girard was trying to hit him he would have thrown a fast ball. Carolina batter was not amused and had to be restrained.Bob Green
