While certainly known for a variety of roles over a multiple decades career, playing the title role in Scrooge was my favorite.

Skyfall was his last movie, and he was brilliant in that movie as well.

Finney was nominated five times for Oscars and never won.

My favorite of his movies has to be Murder on the Orient Express. I'm also partial to Tom Jones, which won Best Picture for 1963.

Watched Big Fish again this morning.
What a great movie.
Smiled up until the conclusion, and was bawling for the last ten minutes of the movie.

If you haven't seen it, I think Albert Finney's performance in "The Dresser" is amazing. It's a small film from 1983 about the relationship between an aging Shakesperean actor in England during WW2 (Finney) and his valet/wardrobe man (Tom Courtenay) who helps him be able to get on stage night after night. Finney is perfectly cast and delivers a wonderful, bombastic performance. Courtenay is excellent in a much more understated role. Both men were nominated for Best Actor that year. The film itself is good, not great, but the performances are absolutely worth seeing.
