I watched most of the Highpoint game and only saw the box score for the Jacksonville game, but here are few thoughts:

I thought that Turner Uppgren did not play a bad game against Highpoint. He made a couple of nice saves before the game got out of hand in the fourth quarter. The defense fell apart badly in the fourth quarter and he no chance on most of the Highpoint scores late in the game.

That's a good point. There is no question that a goalie's job is dramatically affected by the defense's success or failure at preventing the offense from getting easy shots. I wonder also whether, since Uppgren is starting for the first time this year, it is taking a while for him and the rest of the defense to get on the same page. The goalie is often the vocal leader of the defense, and that may take some practice and adjustment. Hopefully things will improve.

The rain and the shot clock having a significant impact so far. Duke goalie superb. Duke offense stagnant. Tied 1-1 after the first period.

But Duke on the face-off got a fortuitous bounce on a ground ball and Manown scored with 4 secs left for Duke to win 10-9
