    Nos4a2

Anyone going to watch NOS4A2 on AMC tonight?

Adaptation of a Joe Hill (Stephen King’s son) novel.

Never even heard of it. Was it any good?

    I enjoyed it.
A bit of a slow start even knowing up front that season one is only supposed to cover about the first third of the book.

If you have not read the book, the opening episode could be confusing. I read the book a few years ago and my memory of it is fairly fuzzy.

I’m looking forward to watching the rest of the season.

I recently watched The Hot Zone miniseries on National Geographic. It’s been years (decades probably) since I’ve seen the movie Outbreak. The thing that struck me the most about the mini series is the pacing was really off- Outbreak was a two hour frenzy of tension, and the Hot Zone miniseries was way more of a slow burn without much payoff.

I share the Hot Zone/Outbreak analogy as it is not clear to me, even as big a book as NOS4A2 is, how this will stretch over 3 seasons. At six one hour episodes per season, that’s 18 hours of TV.

Anyway, I am optimistic that the series will be worth the time investment. I may need to re-read the book.
