While I'm enjoying all the frippery (I'm probably not using it correctly, but I like the word), to get back on topic...
AP has a good article out on what electability means to Ds:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...eq7?li=BBnb7Kz
From the article:
Multiple recent polls suggest that both Warren and Sanders would defeat Trump in a head-to-head matchup. Yet very few Democratic voters actually believe that's the case.
Just 9% of Democrats and those leaning Democratic think Warren has the best chance to win a general election, according to a poll released last week by Quinnipiac University. The numbers are only slightly better for Sanders: 12% believe he can beat Trump.
At the same time, 49% say Biden has the best chance to win.
Obama may have quietly expressed doubts to Biden about his bid.
I have no doubt Obama will remain silent until the primary voters have spoken and elected the nominee (and then that person will have Obama's full support).
I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying Obama discouraged Biden from running in 2016 and that cost the Dems the election? I'm sure there were a lot of factors influencing Biden's decision to ultimately not run in 2016 but a big one that he gave was the death of Beau from brain cancer in May 2015 and the subsequent family grief. I'll take that at face value.
I’m more or less saying this...
"The former vice president pondered running in 2016, but Obama wanted Hillary Clinton."

Good to know the professionals feel the same as posters on this thread.
"Trying to figure out the state of the Democratic presidential race? Get in line."
Putting my Moderator Hat on here...
The developing Puerto Rico discussion is not germane to the presidential horse race so I caution all to tread carefully.

Different perspective on what 2018 means for 2020, and a little support for those of us who don’t think moderation is necessarily the proper tactic for Democrats trying to win back the White House.
It’s one voice, not definitive by any measure, but still interesting.
With the economic uncertainty and the ongoing tiff with China really hurting farmers, I'm beginning to think the president may take one from George Aiken's playbook and largely capitulate to China while declaring a major victory. Some time early next year, perhaps.
Larry Kudlow is hammered drunk this morning on Fox News Sunday.
Prove me wrong.
Maybe he was participating in gose day on the Ymm Beer thread and his screen-name login just hadn't been approved yet. Those gose's hit the spot and talking politics could drive anybody to have a few extra.
Salty, sour, and some nice notes of fruit. Kinda sounds like politics, but more fun. Oktoberfest is in September. All are welcome!
