Got it, thanks. Not only overly cute but dead wrong.

Well, looking at it through an NFL talent lens it holds somewhat true for our offense last year...not a lot of NFL talent, TJ's UDFA contract notwithstanding. Overly harsh, but a little short of dead wrong, we had a talent deficiency on offense last year (especially at receiver and OL, the two most relevant positions when considering a QB's supporting talent).

Kinda fun thinking we beat the Cheats 3 in a row with only Daniel Jones and a bunch of Bartenders/Bouncers.

The Cheats are no better (until that new two-handed passing league gets going).

Guess the Cheats were a bunch of bottle washers.

The cheats are not morally sufficient to be bartenders!

It was simply a poor analogy by the writer...might've been better to call them a bunch of lawyers and financial analysts or something...

yeah, he was trying to make a point creatively, but this one did clank - because this one doesn't fit Duke's image. You know, "a bunch of hedge fund guys and lawyers" would've perhaps been a more apropos way. The bartender thing might've worked for, say, UNLV.

EVERYBODY is jumping on the DJ bandwagon, even Chris Mortensen:

The most popular player on most teams (EVERY losing team) is the back-up quarterback.

Wonder if some GMs that drafted after #6 will soon claim that they would have snagged DJ if he had been available?

This stuff is amazing. First he was the most ludicrous choice imaginable, now he's a Wonder Boy (The Real Deal!) even though he's yet to play a down...I have no doubt that if he stumbles when he first gets on the field, the press will turn
on him like a rabid pack of jackals, because they do fickle exceedingly well.
