[Ted Cassidy, I believe, also has a wonderful bit part in 'Butch Cassidy (no relation) and the Sundance Kid' where Butch displays to him the 'rules' of fighting in the Hole In The Wall Gang's hideaway.]

    Correct!

Littler known fact: Ted also was “Thing” in The Addams Family too. He went on to numerous bit roles in movies and TV shows. He played basketball at Stetson too.

Died at age 46, which I am here to tell you kids on my lawn is too damn young.

So we try to expand the roles of the bench guys to help get them going? Or do we just continue playing our game and getting more reps in our usual sets?
Get AOC the ball and tell him he can't pass it back before making at least one threat to the basket whether it be a pass inside, a drive on his defender or some aggressive basetball move.

Focus on getting the ball to Cam and tell him to be aggressive offensively.

On inside passes tell Bolden and Delaurier they are out of the game if they bring the ball to the floor before going up.

Otherwise, get players out of bad habits.

Although Chipper never played HS basketball, (he played football), at 46 years old, Chipper is probably still a better athlete than anyone on the Hatters roster. He has four years of eligibility, but he wouldn't want game time to interfere with hunting season.
I believe DeLand is also the hometown of 1994 Duke football star Robert Baldwin. Too bad that the start of Chipper's career was interrupted by knee surgery and the strike that year or '94 could have really been something for DeLand athletes.

    Beyond the Nickname

Here are a couple fun, but meaningless, facts about Duke's history vs Stetson.

    - Duke played Stetson in each of Coach K's first 10 seasons at Duke, but the two teams haven't met since 1990.

    - The 1986 game vs Stetson is the only time in Coach K's tenure at Duke where 11 Duke players received at least 9 minutes of playing time in a game decided by less than 20 points.

Little known indeed . I always thought the tall Ted Cassidy played Lurch, the hulking butler.

(An old fan of horror and everything macabre couldn't let this slide, OPK!)

He was both. What a versatile acting range!

DeLand is DeWorst place in DeWorld to be in July. Spent a miserable week in a tent at a nearby Boy Scout camp with my son. He quit scouts immediately thereafter and I did a happy dance. Stetson has a pretty campus but I hope to never see it again.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but DeLand is the birthplace of my all time favorite professional athlete, Larry Wayne "Chipper" Jones.

Free throw shooting - team average is currently 65.2%. Improving to above 70% would be nice.

The first really good Duke team that I am able to remember was Bill Foster's 1977-78 team with Spanarkel, Gminski and frosh Gene Banks and Kenny Dennard. If I'm not mistaken, they were the best FT shooting team in the country, and I just checked their stats...79.1%. That said, Banks and Dennard kind of pulled that percentage down. (G-man as over 80% as a center, which is very helpful). I think it takes a while for the freshman to get comfortable at the line. Clearly easier for them to adjust at full speed.

This strong FT shooting really helped this team advance. They made teams pay all game long for fouling.

Maybe this will lead to an 11 man rotation this year? 😀
“Those two kids, they’re champions,” Krzyzewski said of his senior leaders. “They’re trying to teach the other kids how to become that, and it’s a long road to become that.”

Maybe with the current exchange rate between US and Canadian dollars that *might* work .

I don't feel like trying to dig through Duke's gameday info on my phone, does anyone know if they allow people to bring umbrellas in Cameron?

From the Duke A-Z gameday guide:
    Umbrellas
Umbrellas are permitted inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. For the courtesy and safety all guests we ask that umbrellas are not opened inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Please store your umbrellas under your seat so as to not affect the guests sitting around you. Umbrellas should not be left outside of Cameron Indoor Stadium or in the concourses.

For ticket holders yes. For students no. Which is ironic since students are the ones who have to stand in the rain for hours prior to coming inside.

He also did the famous "Dr. David Banner" monologue from the Incredible Hulk tv series. As well as voicing the Hulk's roar.
