Not bad for a college dropout.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
Congrats to Elton. It looks like his move back to Philly as a vet at the end of his career was part of a larger strategy.
I’m proud to see Elton continue to represent Duke so well.

Trajan Langdon, who is the assistant GM with the Nets, must be so jealous! Ha!
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Congrats to Elton, but I'm a bit nervous, considering his lack of experience. Fingers crossed, hoping for the best.
Wasn't Billy King (AKA Sky King in the vernacular of Al McGuire) also a Sixers GM for a while?
I am thrilled for Elton, another NBA front office big shot for #theBrotherhood! Let’s see how the late 90s/early aughts contigent (Elton, Trajan, Shane) compare to the late 80s crew (Ferry, King). Listening to JJ’s recent pod with Zach Lowe, they hinted that Dunleavy Jr. is destined for an NBA job in the near term, too.
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. - Winston Churchill

Anunikeville, one of the tents in Devil's Alley a few years ago, was offering shoe-nc AFAM degrees when folks stopped by for a visit. We never saw Elton, nor can we confirm whether that program still exists.
I have a photo dated 9/1/12 to prove it but have never figured out how to post a photo from my phone on DBR.

Samesies to this. Back when the USA men's team was practicing in Vegas for the Olympics, scrimmaging the Puerto Rican team, I went to see them play. I knew K's favorite hotel in Vegas was the Wynn, which was where the team was staying. After the game, I waited around the casino floor for the players and had a chance to speak with Elton and his wife, also a Duke grad. Initially they were hesitant and offered a 'hey, thanks for coming out,' but when I let them know I was a Duke guy, they legit stopped and chatted for fifteen-twenty minutes. He's very well-spoken, as is his wife, and he was all smiles about his time at Duke. Later that night, Elton saw me in the line to get into the club in the Wynn at which the players were partying, and he got and my buddies in sans cover and back to his table. It was a great memory, and he'll always be a favorite of mine.
