Wait what? Is Anybody Goin to San Antone is a Charley Pride song, and it doesn't mention Waco.

And frankly, any Baylor alum with any money and not named Chip or Joanna does *not* live in Waco. DFW and Austin are an easy drive on game days.

I think of it as a Doug Sahm song.

Neither Pride nor Sahm wrote it, fwiw.

True and therefore I shouldn't call it "his" -- it's his recording of it that first made it famous.

The verse is at the end of one of the tracks of Jerry Jeff's album, Viva Luckenbach! Either "What I Like about Texas" or "Make Texas Beautiful." I'll have to dig up my CD.

But, of course, it's a Charley Pride classic. My opinion of Baylor and Waco may have been distorted by my years at Rice in grad school.
