killerleft is in the catbird seat.
team killerleft:
Justin Thomas
Justin Rose
Jordan Spieth
B DeChambeau
Tiger Woods
Yay, me? Great to see Tiger win, no matter what. Rose seemed happy for some reason.
The Four Horsemen of the High Sage finished OK this week.
#1 - Woods
T7 - Justin T.
T21 Molinari
T27 Koepka
I assume most people picked El Tigre at an el cheapo price. Still puzzled by Molinari, who was the best player in the world for a couple of months and did nothing in the playoffs (even failing to show up for one tournament).
Anyway, it was a fun event, once I figured out what OWGR meant.

'When I got on the bus for my first road game at Duke, I saw that every player was carrying textbooks or laptops. I coached in the SEC for 25 years, and I had never seen that before, not even once.' - David Cutcliffe to Duke alumni in Washington, DC, June 2013
Really good weekend for Team Evans. I have not looked but we may have won this week:
Woods - 1
Johnson - 3
Simpson - 4
Rose - 4
Reed - 28
But, there is so little difference in many of the placings I am sure I won't catch our leader. For example, the difference in finishing 4th ($372k) and finishing in last place this week ($144k) was only $230,000. First and second place made a lot, but the others just didn't move the needle all that much.
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Yup, as I noted a few pages back, to win I needed DJ, Simpson, and Reed to finish like 1-2-3... oh well.
But, I suspect I may have finished second to Killerleft, which is not bad considering KL absolutely destroyed in picking these four tournaments (winner, winner, runner up, winner).
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
Would it be possible to have a gambling thread so that discussion in a FedEx Cup Playoff thread was actually about golf?
No gambling here, although I’m sure you realized that. Perhaps you can bump one of the FedEx Cup threads from years past?
I do wish there were more discussion of the actual golf, but only the majors (and then, only really the two Opens and the Masters) seem to generate actual discussion.
Man, if your Mom made you wear that color when you were a baby, and you're still wearing it, it's time to grow up!
Congrats to Jason Evans for winning the Tour Championship, but like Tiger it wasn't enough to win the FedEx Cup - those congratulations go to killerleft who had a killer four tournament showing and was the wire to wire winner.
Also congrats to CameronBornandBred who, according to mkirsh, won the BMW Championship on an unaudited basis. Here are the results for the Tour Championship. I will have the "semi-audited" BMW results and the overall results up shortly.
Thanks all for playing this season. I think I read it's 200 days until the Masters.

Here are the four tournament totals. This thing was over after week 2 thanks to Bryson DeChambeau.
Congrats again to killerleft. This was a lot of fun - I hope others enjoyed it. Definitely a historic end to the PGA season.

Not a good performance by Team Green, which motivates me to pick better next season.
Bob Green
I think that actually undersells killerleft’s performance. He or she picked 3 of the 4 winners and 2 of the 4 runners-up, with some top-5s sprinkled in too. Things were still in play going into the BMW. But with Rose’s second there and none of us picking the winner, that pretty much sealed the deal.
If someone like Day or Koepka or McIlroy had won it two weeks ago, this weekend might have been interesting. Of course Woods winning this week slammed the door on all of us anyway, as killerleft was one of the 9 that had Tiger, meaning nobody could gain real ground.
Just a really impressive set of four tourneys, including picking the highest-finishing picked performer in all four events.
Huge shout of thanks to HouseP, for being brave and taking the top 3 (and most expensive) for his team. That was an experiment I was totally curious about.
There is no way I would have predicted it would have earned last place, one of the reasons I was pretty tempted by the choice myself.
Will have to keep tabs for the next few years and see if the "best team" is continually low, or if this was an anomaly.
Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
Thanks to all, and thanks especially to Bryson DeChambeau. He was the wild card, of course. That maverick swing helped me choose him. I actually tried the Natural Golf swing for a week or two, but it quickly became apparent that the change was too drastic for me.
