Anyone else watching?
Through the first six episodes, been pretty captivating.
An entire cast of villians/unlikables, including Brian Cox who is a brilliant actor at playing roles you love to hate.
If you have any kind of nsfw language sensitivity, not the show for you.
The season 1 Finale (Episode 10) aired last night. Is it safe to comment if you've only gotten up to #6?
I'm two episodes behind. It's has been so utterly awful that it's actually ludicrously good. The most delicious scenery chewing, hammy acting and awful plot development I've seen on the teevee in a long time. Good old Frank Rich with his hardly veiled political sensibilities.
Every episode I've seen has had one or two truly disgusting moments and one good laugh. Can't stop watching now!

All caught up.
Wow.
Just when I thought Kendall couldn’t “Fredo” any harder...
There really is not a single likable or honourable character.
Kieran Culkin may be the most enjoyable performer.
The show is well done and the characters are interesting. But the last episode had me wondering how long I'll stick with it: the Kendall yo-yo is getting tiresome. I guess they don't want to write Logan off just yet, but how many takeover bids is too many?
Shiv and Greg (maybe Marcia and Tom) are potentially the most intriguing characters going forward. Logan, Roman and Connor are pretty simplistic so any wacky, out-of-character twists by any of them to further the story would be unfortunate. I guess Logan has some freedom to be wacky.
I like defined, well written, clinical plot lines rather than the "slow burners" that feel made up week-to-week, milking plots for 12 episodes to get renewed and do it all over again -- just my opinion. (Don't think I can handle another season of Better Call Saul.)
Finally wrapped up the season. Good lord, I think they should can the crowded parties meme. Passing through hordes of people in big rooms seems to be a "go to" action move. Did anyone else think there was a lot of muttering? I kept turning up the sound to catch what people were saying.
Brian Cox must have to renovate a house somewhere. Can't figure out why he took this turkey on.

Boy Oh was I wrong! This second season was spectacular. All the odious characters were even more despicable and the acting was fantastic.
Great, grueling plot line but the payoff was gasp-worthy. Won't give away the finale but I've watched it twice.

Succession has filled the hole left by GOT and a few other recent favs for my wife and me. Great, great second season. We were both fairly certain of the arc of the character that induced your gasps but the pay-off was still damn enjoyable. The show is beautifully shot but the final episode of the season was world-class. It took place almost entirely on-board the Solandge, one of the world's poshest mega yachts, while it motored around the Croatian coast. Talk about some eye candy, lifestyle porn viewing!
Kendall comes up big...i suspected he might when he delivered The Kiss...some really great character development in that show ...
HBO does it again! A couple more seasons like the last and this will be one of my all-time favorite shows. Amazing how many of those were HBO's!
I love the show and am also a big fan of the Ringer recap show called “Number One Boys”. They are a little corny but I enjoy the extra 20 minutes of recap each week. Highly recommended.
I don’t often catch the subtleties of the cinematic arts. In the final episode this season, I caught four themes.
One was Kendall framed as Jesus floating in the pool on the yacht, followed by Kendall as Judas with the kiss.
Third was the ongoing efeminization (if that’s a word) of Tom. Pink blazer in one scene, pink pants in another. Reluctance to engage in open marriage activities. [Side note: no offense or judgment intended by this observation.] Then he finally stood up to Shiv by sharing what was bothering him, and did the ridiculous yes I did just sit down, eat the chicken off your plate and walk away absurd power move.
The fourth was Logan talking about needing to be a killer talking to Kendall about whether or not he’d be a food CEO, and the close of the episode where Logan appears torn between anger and pride.
So maybe the overall theme was the duality of humanity. Logan, Shiv, Kendall and Tom all showed two very distinctly different personas in the episode.
LOL, what do I know 🤣
well done...Tom is such a great character...was surprised to see him recently in something else, he's a Brit for heaven's sake! The preening and groveling for Logan's affections is wonderful...tough to find parallels in my own life...for example I never asked my father for $100 million to get my finances up to snuff...marvelous group scene as they debated who would be the best candidate for Under The Bus duty...splendid stuff.
My son believes Shiv and Kendall are working together. Me, not so much. We agreed that Ken's rap performance looked great as a goof and red herring. Son said he had to stop the tivo when that rap began because of the huge cringe factor. Then of course he turned it back on and watched it again.
And I was surprised how Roman sounded like a shrewd head after the hostage situation report. But seriously, Roman propositioning Jerry?! Pure platinum.

If you take the cringe scenes out of Succession, there may not be much left...they do superb Cringe...for those of us who spent decades in Large Corporate America, the selfish manoeuvering is splendid, every man and woman for his or her self...openly discussing the sacrificial lamb makes for great TV...
(Logan is a splendid screw up, but he's not at all stupid, as papa bear now realizes, if not to his amusement, perhaps to his bemusement.)
