The system won't let me give sporks for this, so I'll have to say "Excellent idea! " the old fashioned way.
We have had posters come and go over the years. Some I miss and some I don't remember, but I am sure others to. Maybe a thread about those missing friends might be fun. The comments about Jarhead kind of piqued my interest.
I was thinking of Devil Alumna, BillyBreen and Jumbo as three that I really miss. Some may now be lurkers, but I would love to hear what is going on with them - and with others that posters may point to.

Roy White. I miss him for one. I too miss Jumbo and his commentary...
I was wondering about Jarhead as well. We often saw eye to eye on things. I think he was/is still active duty, reach really made me worry when he suddenly stopped posting.
Actually, I take that back. I think I'm confusing him with Airforcedukie.
I seem to recall that the server for Chat sat in Billy Breen's living room for a time. Not sure if that is accurate and I have no idea about it today. Maybe jk will weigh in.
Who was the poster taking a lengthy time off from the webbernets?
greybeard - he was wild but I appreciate his wildness
DesEsseintes - another acerbic dude, but I liked his perspective
tommy - he was prolific for a while
Who remembers the "joy" of earljam?
I also enjoyed Jumbo, Olympic Fan, RoyWhite, desesseintes, tommy, greybeard and Duvall’s posts. Allenmurray still posts every once in awhile and often has a good perspective.
DA now has two small kids (okay they are probably 4-7 years old) and also works full time.
Jarhead is 89. He retired from the Marines back in '72 after serving 26 years active duty and reserves from post-war Japan to Korea to Vietnam and points in between. There is a thread a few below this one with an update on him. Link below:

Jumbo is fine. Jon Scheyer would have told us if something had happened to one of his parents.
Where's McGrupp in this conversation?
